The Full Moons of 2021 Include: 2 Supermoons, 1 Blue Moon, and 2 Lunar Eclipses

Metaphysically speaking, there will be 2 Supermoons in 2021, not 3, and not 4.  On the other hand, astronomers state there are 4 Supermoons in 2021. In fact, 4 in a row; March through June. January 28, 2021: Full Wolf Moon is in Leo

Also called the Old Moon or the Hunger Moon. This moon is called the Wolf Moon because, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac,  this is the time of year wolves tend to be most vocal.

February 27, 2021: Full Snow Moon is in Virgo

Also known as the Midwinter Moon.  February is the month of the year that is considered snowy, hence the name of this full moon.

March 28, 2021: Full Worm Moon is in Libra

Also known as the Spring Moon or Wing Moon. Worms begin to appear in the Spring due to the warm weather. Hence the name.

Pink Super Moon 2021

April 26, 2021: Full Pink Supermoon is in Scorpio (10:33 p.m CST)

Also known as the Frog Moon.  Contrary to the name, the Full Pink Moon isn’t actually pink. Its’ name comes from the pink flowers that bloom in early spring. This year, extra big and bright full moon in April will be as close as it can get to Earth. This phenomenon is known as a supermoon.

May 26, 2021: Full Flower Supermoon is in Sagittarius (6:14 a.m CST); total lunar eclipse

 

“April showers bring May flowers,” hence the name Flower Moon also known as the Budding Moon. This year is also a supermoon.

June 24, 2021: Full Strawberry is in Capricorn

Also called the Flowering Moon or the River Moon. This full moon is named after the strawberry harvesting season.  Astronomer’s predicted third supermoon of 2021.

July 23, 2021: Full Buck Moon is in Aquarius

Also known as the Blueberry Moon. July’s moon is called the Full Buck Moon because it’s when the new antlers on bucks begin to show.

August 22, 2021: Full Sturgeon Moon is in Aquarius; blue moon

Also be called the Corn Moon because Corn is harvested in August. The Sturgeon Full Moon is named after the fish of the Great Lakes because that’s when they are most easily caught. The term blue moon refers to it being the third full moon of a particular season.

September 20, 2021: Full Harvest Moon is in Pisces

Also known as the Hunting Moon or Fall Moon. The Full Harvest Moon is the full moon that falls closest to the Fall Equinox on September 21; every now and again it can occur in October.

October 20, 2021: Full Hunter’s Moon is in Aries

Also known as the Falling Leaves Moon. Colder weather signals a time to stock up on game for the upcoming winter, hence the name Full Hunter’s Moon.

November 19, 2021: Full Beaver Moon is in Taurus; partial lunar eclipse

This is about when beavers start preparing for their winter, inspiring the name, Full Beaver Moon. It’s also called the First Snow Moon.

December 18, 2021: Full Cold Moon is in Gemini

Also known as the Big Winter Moon. The Full Cold Moon is called this simply because it’s cold outside.
